BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 25. Negotiations on the unification of tariffs are conducted both between the TRACECA member countries and within the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Georgia and Kazakhstan), National Secretary of the Permanent Secretariat of the Intergovernmental Commission TRACECA Rufat Bayramov told Trend.
According to Bayramov, active work is underway to create a working group within customs authorities.
"Along with tariffs, the harmonization of customs procedures is also an important issue. For this purpose, on May 28 this year, the first meeting of the working group within TRACECA will be held with the participation of experts and representatives of customs authorities, at which it’s planned to discuss all these topical issues," he said.
At the same time, according to him, work is underway to harmonize the tax base and fees.
"It’s expected both the optimization of tariffs and the attraction of additional transit goods," added Bayramov.
