PMO observes increase in cargo movements at Iran’s Charak port

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 7. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Charak port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) increased by 55.4 percent, in the 9th month of the current Iranian year (November 22 through December 21, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

In total, more than 153,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port over the 9th month. Of this amount, over 125,000 tons were loaded, and 28,100 tons were unloaded.

In addition, approximately 18,500 tons of cargo were exported through the Charak port during the reporting month.

At the same time, about 107,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 28,100 tons were unloaded in the port for cabotage within the 9th month.

Some 13,800 tons of essential products, 103,000 tons of construction and mining materials, 2,520 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts, 164 tons of chemicals, 35,500 tons of small and assorted goods, and 1,320 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in Charak port in the 9th month of the current Iranian year.

In general, approximately 12 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 9th month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.6 million tons were loaded and 5.4 million tons were unloaded. This is a decrease of 8.1 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
