BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 15. Uzbekistan has prepared two projects for the construction of an almost new Urgench airport and the reconstruction of Bukhara Airport, Trend reports.
According to official data, this was stated by the Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Airports JSC Rano Jurayeva at the Asia Connect: Aviation Strategy conference in Tashkent.
According to her, two new projects have been prepared and will be implemented based on the experience of the development of Samarkand Airport on the terms of a public-private partnership.
Jurayeva also noted that several projects have been prepared for the development of airports in the Ferghana Valley, and also added that work is currently underway on the development of the Tashkent airport.
The head of Uzbekistan Airports stressed that more than $200 million has been invested in the development of the infrastructure of Uzbekistan's airports in recent years.
According to her, 58 airlines currently fly to Uzbekistan, and the transit flow of passengers is also growing.
