BP resumes Chirag oil platform’s work in Azerbaijan

BP, the operator of the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli bloc of fields in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea has resumed producing light oil from the platform at the Chirag Field, BP Azerbaijan told Trend today.

BP, the operator of the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli bloc of fields in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea has resumed producing light oil from the platform at the Chirag Field, BP Azerbaijan told Trend today.

The platform's work was stopped Dec.11. At present, extraction from the platform has been restored in the previous regime - about 98,000 barrels.

Preventive repair works were carried out at the platform.

Baku-Supsa oil pipeline was stopped for preventive works.

Other platforms, in particular in the field "Azeri" and the deep part of the field Guneshli, Sangachal oil terminal and other export facilities are working normally.

ACG participating interests are: BP (operator - 37.43 percent), Chevron (11.27 percent), SOCAR (10 percent), INPEX (10.96 percent), Statoil (8.56 percent), ExxonMobil (8 percent), TPAO (6.75 percent), ITOCHU (4.30 percent), Hess (2.72 percent).
