Seven people, including five policemen, were killed as a result of firing and explosion in the city of Taraz, south Kazakhstan, Deputy Attorney General Nurmahanbet Isaev said at a briefing in Astana on Saturday, RIA Novosti reported.
Earlier, the Interior Ministry reported about five dead people in this city, including three police officers.
"Thirty-four-year-old Kaliev follows jihad," he said. "He has committed several serious crimes. Seven people died, including five police officers."
