Sappers are working in the railway station building in Kazakh city of Petropavlovsk, inspecting luggage office to detect explosive device, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported referring to the spokesman of the Department of Emergency Situations in Northern Kazakh regions Natalya Popova.

Security authorities got two reports of ticking device in the luggage office of railway station in Kazakh city of Petropavlovsk on Wednesday.

"Railway station's employee found a package with ticking device in the luggage office of the station and at 10.16 a.m. reported to the Department of Emergency Situations," Popova said.

Popova said that the special services who arrived at the station found a clock with battery in the package. But in a few minutes another call with the same message about a ticking device from the railway station was received.

"Sappers are currently working at the station building, inspecting the luggage office using the special equipment to detect explosive device", spokesman for the Interior Department of North Kazakhstan Spartak Kabdenov told Novosti-Kazakhstan.

"The traffic through the station was shut down, the area is cordoned off," Kabdenov said at the scene.
A series of terror acts have been recently committed in Kazakhstan.
A bomb exploded in a garbage bin outside the regional administration building in the Atyrau city in western Kazakhstan on Oct. 31. No casualties were reported. The blast did not cause damage to the residential and office buildings.
The second explosion took place on a vacant lot near a neighborhood of the Atyrau city. An unknown man blew himself up and died. No other victims were reported.
Seven people, including five policemen, were killed as a result of firing and explosion in the city of Taraz, south Kazakhstan on November 12.
