Kazakhstan, Argentina discuss bilateral cooperation

Within the ongoing tour of South America, Kazakhstan's Foreign Minister Erlan Idrisov visited Buenos Ayres, the capital of Argentina on October 1, a message from the press-service of Kazakhstan's Foreign Ministry published on Wednesday said.
According to the message, this is the first official visit of Kazakhstan's Foreign Minister to Argentina.
"Global issues and cooperation prospects were discussed during the meeting of Idrisov with his Argentine counterpart Hector Timerman. The parties emphasized the similarity of development priorities, closeness of views and stances on international issues," the message said.
The Foreign Ministers of the two countries agreed to activate bilateral cooperation, signing an agreement during the meeting on launching a mechanism of political consultation and abolition of visa requirements for official delegations.
Timerman plans to visit Astana in 2014 at the invitation of Idrisov.
The Kazakh Foreign Minister also agreed with his Argentine counterpart to abolish the visa regime between the two countries during the return visit of Timerman to Astana, so Kazakhstan citizens could visit Argentina without visas next year.
Idrisov also discussed economic cooperation with Argentine business circles during the visit.
"The possibilities for technological exchange for processing natural gas, as well as other issues of cooperation in the oil and gas sphere was discussed with the management of "YPF", the national company of Argentina. The representatives of Argentina's Petroleum Council - an organization representing the interests of the domestic industry, in turn, have expressed interest in cooperation with Kazakhstan at the global level, " the message said.
According to the message, the meeting between Kazakh Foreign Minister and the representatives of the Mutual Association of the Corporation of Argentine Meat Producers also revealed the existing potential of bilateral cooperation. Argentina is a global leader for beef production and its agricultural research organizations are ready to share the latest scientific developments in this sphere with Kazakhstan.
