BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 21. The Central Asian countries have managed to resume the pre-COVID interactions, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said at the 4th Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia on July 21, Trend reports.

According to him, the mutually beneficial trade and economic collaboration between the countries of Central Asia are steadily expanding.

"The five countries have succeeded not only in restoring the pre-pandemic level of cooperation but also in boosting trade turnover through joint efforts. According to our data, the intra-regional trade volume exceeded $8 billion, increasing by 27 percent," Tokayev stated.

The president stressed that sustainable development, regional stability, and security are common tasks laying a tremendous responsibility upon countries to future generations.

"I would like to assure you of Kazakhstan's loyalty to the strategic direction towards comprehensive strengthening regional cooperation, as well as enhancing the role of Central Asia on the world stage," Tokayev noted.
