BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 1. China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) invested $45 billion in Kazakhstan’s economy, in addition to paying $50 billion in taxes, Bulat Sultanov, Chairman of the board of the “One Belt. – One Road” Expert Club, said, Trend reports, citing Kazakh media.

Sultanov added that, as a result of 25 years of cooperation between CNPC and Kazakhstan, the Chinese corporation created more than 30,000 workplaces, with 98.3 percent of these employers being local specialists.

The speaker also commended the social responsibility of CNPC by highlighting that $410 million have been allocated for social projects.

CNPC is a holder of a large project portfolio in Kazakhstan and is an important element in the bilateral relations between China and Kazakhstan. Earlier, the President of Kazakhstan congratulated the CNPC team on the 25th anniversary of its activity in the country, noting that the corporation plays an important role in the development of multilateral cooperation between the two states.
