BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 30. Türkiye has imported a total of 633,694 tons of crude oil from Kazakhstan in January 2023, which accounted for 18.37 percent of total Türkiye’s crude oil imports in the reporting month, Trend reports citing Türkiye’s Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK).

Thus, Türkiye’s import of Kazakh crude oil increased by 22.2 percent compared to January 2022 (518,422 tons) and grew by 118.8 percent compared to the volume imported in January 2021 (289,589 tons).

According to the report, Kazakhstan ranked second among main exporters of crude to Türkiye in the reporting period, following after Iraq (917,656 tons). Russia, at the same time, rounds the TOP-3 with 325,854 tons of crude exported to Türkiye in January 2023.

Meanwhile, Türkiye's total crude imports in the reporting period amounted to 2.25 million tons, which is a decrease of 13.4 percent year-on-year (2.6 million tons in January 2022), and an increase of 25 percent, compared to January 2021 (1.8 million tons).
