ASTANA, Kazakhstan, August 14. Kazakhstan will finish preparations for the Central Asia-Center main gas pipeline for the transit of Russian gas to Uzbekistan by October, the Ministry of Energy said, Trend reports.
"The Central Asia-Center major gas pipeline will be developed as part of a deal reached between the governments of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Gazprom PJSC to carry Russian gas through Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan. According to the ministry, "the technical preparation for the Kazakhstan part of the Central Asia-Center major gas pipeline is in the active execution stage and is scheduled to be finished by October 1, 2023.
The Ministry of Energy further emphasized that in November 2022, Russia proposed the idea of trilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan, Russia, and Uzbekistan in the gas industry.
However, no official proposals have been received from Russia or Uzbekistan to date. Cooperation in the gas sector with these countries continues in a bilateral format on the basis of mutually beneficial partnerships.
