Kazakh KazMunayGas, Chinese CGGC keen to co-op in number of projects

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 16. KazMunayGas JSC (KMG, Kazakhstan's national oil and gas company) and China Gezhouba Group Co., Ltd (CGGC) have expressed interest in cooperation, KMG told Trend.

Recently, a meeting between Deputy Chairman of the Board of KMG Serikkali Brekeshev and Vice President of CGGC Deng Yinqi was held. The parties discussed the prospects for cooperation in the implementation of planned projects of the KMG group.

In particular, they discussed the construction of a gas processing plant based on raw materials from the Urikhtau field, the introduction of sludge separation technology at the fields of KazMunayGas subsidiaries, and renewable energy sources to achieve low-carbon policy goals, etc.

Brekeshev expressed gratitude to the management of the Chinese corporation for their interest. According to him, KMG is ready to further discuss the development of partnership in the implementation of projects.

The scope of activity of CGGC covers 12 areas, including hydropower, renewable energy, thermal power, water supply and wastewater treatment, construction of main oil and gas pipelines.

The corporation also conducts in-depth research and has extensive experience in the field of bioseparation technologies for oil and gas products.

KazMunayGas increased its oil and gas condensate production volume over the first 9 months of 2023, surpassing the data of last year's same period by 9 percent, totaling 17.5 million tons (483,000 barrels per day).

The production volume of natural and associated gas in the reporting period of 2023 increased by 17.9 percent year-on-year to over 7 billion cubic meters.
