ASTANA, Kazakhstan, May 24. The East Kazakhstan region implements 13 investment projects in the agro-industrial complex totaling 53 billion Kazakh tenge ($119.2 million), Trend reports.
According to an official source, last year the volume of investments in agriculture amounted to 48 billion Kazakh tenge ($108 million), and in food production, 8 billion tenge ($18 million).
At the same time, exports of products reached $437 million, of which 43 percent were processed products.
Since last year, based on the experience of the North Kazakhstan region, six large dairy farms will be built in the region with a total cost of 21 billion tenge and a capacity of 40,000 tons of milk.
The state supported these projects by co-financing them in the amount of 11 billion tenge ($24.7 million).
The implementation of these projects will increase the workload of local dairy processing enterprises to 66 percent, which will significantly improve the provision of local dairy products to the population, promote import substitution, and create new jobs in rural areas.
