ASTANA, Kazakhstan, May 29. The production volume of the manufacturing industry amounted to 7.1 trillion tenge (about $16 billion) from January through April 2024, said Minister of Industry and Construction Kanat Sharlapaev during a government meeting, Trend reports.
"The production of manufacturing products shows positive dynamics. Over the 4 months of this year, production volume amounted to 7.1 trillion tenge, and manufacturing goods worth $5.6 billion were exported," he said.
According to the minister, the volume of investments in fixed capital compared to the same period of the previous year increased by almost 20 percent and amounted to 403.2 billion tenge (about $907 million).
"The industry’s contribution to the economy amounted to 4.3 billion tenge (about $9.68 million). At the end of 2023, labor productivity reached $52,700 per person. Based on the results of 4 months, the growth of the manufacturing industry amounted to 105.2 percent," Sharlapaev said.
Meanwhile, the volume of industrial production in Kazakhstan amounted to 46.4 trillion tenge (about $102.5 billion) from January through December 2023. Compared to 2022, production increased by 4.3 percent.
Thus, production volume in the mining and quarrying industry amounted to 21.7 trillion tenge (about $47.9 billion), which is 4.6 percent more than in 2022. In addition, production in this area accounted for 46.9 percent of total industrial production.
At the same time, production in the manufacturing industry increased by 4.1 percent compared to 2022 and amounted to 21.6 trillion tenge (about $47.7 billion). The manufacturing industry, in turn, covered 46.6 percent of total industrial production.
