Government to assist family members of victims in Kyrgyzstan

The Government of Kyrgyzstan will support victims and family members of those died during tragic events of April 6 in Talas province, on 7 April - in Bishkek, on 13-14 May - in the town of Jalal-Abad and during events of June 2010 in Osh and Jalal-Abad cities.

The Government of Kyrgyzstan will support victims and family members of those died during tragic events of April 6 in Talas province, on 7 April - in Bishkek, on 13-14 May - in the town of Jalal-Abad and during events of June 2010 in Osh and Jalal-Abad cities. The decree was signed by the President of transition period Roza Otunbayeva, the press service of the interim government informs, news agency "24.kg" reported.

Reportedly, the decree provides additional monthly social allowances equal to tenfold the minimum guaranteed income to the families of the victims, children under 18 years old, parents until retirement age (if they lost the only child - lifelong allowance), as well as invalids.

In addition, victims will be provided with medical care and subsidized medicines, free provision of prosthetic and orthopedic appliances, as well as preferential treatment vacations for two years.

It is reported that children of the victims will have a preferential right to receive secondary and higher vocational education and will be provided with extra places in kindergartens.

Moreover, local state administrations and local authorities can set up additional financial assistance, to provide living space, to provide interest-free loan for construction, fuel and free pass.

According to the press service, the financing of social security is financed from the republican and local budgets and other budgetary sources.
