BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 15. Trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan decreased by 47 percent or more than $4 million from January through February 2023, Trend reports via the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.

The value of trade turnover dropped to $5.1 million from January through February 2023 from $9.4 million in the first two months of 2022 and accounted for 0.3 percent of Kyrgyzstan’s total trade turnover.

As statistics said, during the specified period, exports from Kyrgyzstan to Turkmenistan amounted to $482,100, which is 36 percent less than $744,200 from January through February 2022. The share of Turkmenistan in the total volume of Kyrgyz exports during this period was 0.2 percent.

Meanwhile, imports to Kyrgyzstan from Turkmenistan decreased by 47 percent early this year, totaling $4.6 million ($8.7 million from January through February 2022). The share of Turkmenistan in the total volume of imports to Kyrgyzstan amounted to 0.3 percent.

Trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan increased 2.1 times in 2022 compared to 2021 ($37.8 million) - up to $82.1 million.

Exports from Kyrgyzstan to Turkmenistan totaled $4.7 million in 2022, which is 6 percent less than in 2021 ($5 million).

Kyrgyzstan imported $77.4 million worth of goods from Turkmenistan last year, which is more than 2.3 times higher than in the same period of 2021 ($32.7 million).
