Production of cement concrete in Kyrgyzstan hikes

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, September 27. A total of 2,017 million tons of cement were produced in Kyrgyzstan from January through August 2023, up by 7.2 percent compared to the same period in 2022 (1.880 million tons), Trend reports.

Data from the country’s State Statistical Committee shows that 315,700 tons of cement were produced in Kyrgyzstan in August of the current year, which is 8.3 percent more than in August 2022 (291,400 tons).

Additionally, the production of commercial concrete in the country reached 1.437 million tons, increasing 2.6 times compared to the same period from January through August 2022 (542,800 tons).

In August, Kyrgyzstan produced 142,400 tons of commercial concrete, which is 83 percent more than in August 2022, when 77,400 tons were produced.

Additionally, Kyrgyzstan imported 91,393 tons of cement from January through July 2023, which is a 62.2 percent decrease year-on-year.

The total value of industrial production in Kyrgyzstan for the period from January through August 2023 amounted to approximately 289 billion soms ($3.2 billion), with a 0.3-percent year-on-year increase.
