BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, September 9. Kyrgyzstan experienced a 36.5 percent year-on-year drop in its imports of motor gasoline from Russia, Trend reports.
Data sourced from the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan reveals that the country's gasoline imports from Russia amounted to 285.953 million liters during this period, down from the 450.238 million liters recorded in the same period the previous year. The imports slumped by 48 percent year-on-year in terms of value, totaling $114.171 million.
Russia maintained its position as the primary supplier of gasoline to Kyrgyzstan during this reporting period.
Following Russia, Kazakhstan emerged as the second-largest supplier, delivering 38.067 million liters of gasoline. Kazakhstan’s gasoline exports to Kyrgyzstan increased by 8.9 times compared to the previous year, and the value of these imports reached $11.602 million, rising 5.1 times year-on-year.
Additionally, during this period, Kyrgyzstan imported 157,000 liters of motor gasoline from Belarus.
A total of 324.178 million liters of motor gasoline were imported by Kyrgyzstan from January through July 2023, which is a 30-percent decline compared to the same period in 2022.
Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover amounted to $8.153 billion from January through July 2023, which is an increase of 32.3 percent compared to the same months in 2022.
Exports amounted to $1.602 billion, increasing by 45.6 percent compared to the corresponding months of 2022. Imports rose by 29.4 percent year-on-year, totaling $6.551 billion.
