BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, February 16. Kyrgyzstan imported 51,524 tons of iron ores and concentrates in 2023, which is 6 percent less than the 54,880 tons imported in 2022, Trend reports.
Data from Kyrgyzstan’s State Statistical Committee shows that the value of these imports amounted to $2.320 million, marking an 8.5 percent increase compared to 2022 ($2.139 million).
The main country from which Kyrgyzstan imported iron ores and concentrates in 2023 was Kazakhstan, with 50,824 tons valued at $2.207 million. Additionally, Kyrgyzstan imported 700 tons of this type of ore from Russia, amounting to $113,000.
Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover reached $15.66 billion in 2023, a 29.9 percent increase from 2022. The country's exports totaled $3.308 billion, an increase of 46.8 percent year-on-year. Imports to Kyrgyzstan totaled $12.352 billion, which is a 26 percent increase compared to 2022.
