BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 4. Tajik-Chinese mining company has yielded mining products worth 790.6 million somoni ($72.74 million) in Tajikistan’s Guliston city in the Sughd region from January through March 2023, Trend reports with reference to the authorities of the Sughd region.
The company produced 20,400 tons of lead concentrate and 28,200 tons of zinc in 1Q2023.
The share of a Tajik-Chinese mining company accounted for 77.2 percent in the industrial production of the city.
Officials of the Sughd region, while visiting the enterprise on May 1, instructed the company’s management to increase the volume of production, its exports, and fulfill the obligations to further improve the working conditions of employees.
According to the Ministry of Industry and New Technology of Tajikistan, the value of industrial production in Tajikistan amounted to more than 6.6 billion somoni ($605.3 million) from January through February 2023, which is an increase of 6.4 percent year-on-year.
The main industries of Tajikistan are: mining, chemical, cotton, metallurgical, and machine-building. The largest industrial centers of Tajikistan are Dushanbe and Khujand cities.
