Tajikistan targets full digital broadcasting coverage for population

DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, January 29. Tajikistan aims to achieve 100 percent digital broadcasting coverage for the population by 2024, the head of the Committee for TV and Radio Broadcasting under the Government of Tajikistan Nouriddin Said, said, Trend reports.

Said mentioned that digital broadcasting coverage for the population reached 83.4 percent in 2023. He said that TeleRadioCom, the company responsible for implementing the 4th stage of the State Program for the Development of Digital Television Broadcasting in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2020-2024, has completed preparatory work and technical building repairs for radio and television stations where digital transmitters are planned to be installed.

As part of this initiative, the company has successfully commissioned 14 radio and television stations, along with technical buildings for storing digital transmitters and television towers ranging from 12 to 18 meters in height.

The State Program for the Development of Digital Television Broadcasting in Tajikistan for 2020-2024 aims to define goals, advantages, and measures to shape and advance the country's digital television. It is designed to implement the Republic of Tajikistan's concept of state policy in the field of television and radio broadcasting for 2010-2025.

This concept, approved by the government of Tajikistan on October 1, 2009, addresses key tasks to reform the Tajik television sector within the framework of the modern world.
