DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, August 9. Tajikistan's Minister of Transport, Azim Ibrahim, has called for the development of a unified model for logistics and transport networks in Central Asia, Trend reports.
Speaking at the Second Meeting of Ministers of Transport of Central Asian Countries within the frame of the sixth Consultative Meeting of Central Asian Heads of State in Astana, Ibrahim emphasized Tajikistan's commitment to advancing transport and logistics services both domestically and regionally.
He noted that President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon proposed creating a concept for logistics centers in Central Asia during a previous regional summit in Dushanbe last September.
At the conclusion of the meeting, transport ministers from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan signed a protocol and a memorandum on the development and integration of logistics centers across Central Asia.
To note, high-level discussions within the sixth Consultative Meeting of Central Asian Heads of State are covering current issues of multilateral cooperation and prospects for regional interaction.
