BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 11. Turkmenistan is ready for a significant expansion of cooperation with Tajikistan, Trend reports the Trend with reference to the Turkmen media.
This was stated by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov during the talks held in Dushanbe on May 10 with the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
According to him, Turkmenistan is ready to significantly expand cooperation with Tajikistan in the supply of fuel and energy products, construction and chemical industry, food industry and agriculture, pharmaceutical industry and other goods.
He noted that given the huge potential for cooperation in the agro-industrial complex, it is also possible to consider the prospects of working out a mechanism for future mutual supplies of agricultural products.
Berdimuhamedov stressed that at the same time, there is a need to significantly increase the level of partnership between business communities, organize regular contacts between entrepreneurs, and conduct joint specialized events.
In this plan, it is proposed to provide state assistance in attracting Turkmen and Tajik companies to participate in joint investment projects implemented in the territories of the two countries. In particular, the Head of Turkmenistan spoke about the expediency of considering in detail the possibilities of cooperation in the textile industry.
Meanwhile, the legal framework of Turkmenistan with Tajikistan includes more than 110 documents, most of which have a trade and economic orientation.
