ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, September 11. Turkmenistan has significantly increased both production and export of electricity abroad in the period from January through August 2023, Trend reports.
This was announced by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Baymyrat Annamamedov, at a government meeting held on September 8, 2023.
According to him, during the specified period, the growth rate of electricity production by the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan amounted to 5.6 percent and its exports to 1.7 percent.
Furthermore, the Deputy Chairman noted that the production plan and the work carried out within the framework of this ministry exceeded the level of 13.8 percent.
Turkmenistan is actively becoming a part of the integrated energy network in Central Asia.
Turkmenistan is projected to substantially boost its electricity export volume by 8.7 percent by 2025. The realization of this objective will be facilitated through the establishment of new power generation facilities, electrical transmission infrastructure, contemporary transformer substations, and energy distribution networks.
