ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, September 15. The power plants of the Balkan region located in the west of Turkmenistan produced 3.15 billion kilowatt-hours from January through August this year, Trend reports.
Most of the electricity was produced by power plants located in the cities of Turkmenbashi, Awaza, and Balkanabad.
Furthermore, after the comprehensive modernization and construction of two new gas turbines in the Turkmenbashi Oil Processing Complex located in the Balkan region, electricity production should undergo rapid growth.
The electricity generated by the power plants of the Balkan region fully meets the demand of the region. Excess electricity is sent to the country's unified power supply system.
Turkmenistan is actively integrating into the unified energy system of Central Asia and plays an important role in creating additional opportunities for further increasing the volume of supplies.
