Turkmenistan chemical plant produces large volume of phosphorous mineral fertilizers

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, September 16. The Turkmenabat chemical plant, named after Saparmurat Niyazov and located in the Lebap region of Turkmenistan, produced 155,000 tons of phosphorous mineral fertilizers from January through July 2023, Trend reports.

In terms of value, the plant in general produced chemical products worth more than 57.5 million Turkmen manat ($16.4 million).

Furthermore, during the specified period, the plant manufactured 6,510 tons of sulfuric acid, 12 tons of plastic products, over 122,900 cubic meters of oxygen, which is significantly higher than compared to the same period last year.

Meanwhile, the plant produced 270,500 tons of phosphoric mineral fertilizers and 111,000 tons of sulfuric acid last year, exceeding the production plan by 20.8 percent.

The Turkmenabat chemical plant, named after Saparmurat Niyazov, is the only production enterprise in Turkmenistan for the production of phosphorus fertilizers necessary to increase the yield of cotton, grain, and other agricultural crops.
