Uzbekistan, Russia agree on co-op in several economy areas

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 23

Following the meeting of the Joint Commission at the level of the heads of government of Russia and Uzbekistan, documents were signed on cooperation in the field of education, information technology, employment promotion and other areas, Trend reports referring to the press service of the government of Russia.

On June 22, Prime Ministers of Uzbekistan and Russia Abdulla Aripov and Mikhail Mishustin held the second meeting of the Joint Commission at the level of the heads of government of the two countries, during which a number of bilateral intergovernmental and interdepartmental documents were signed, including:

- Joint communiqué following the results of the second meeting of the Joint Commission at the level of the heads of government of Russia and Uzbekistan.

- Memorandum of Understanding between the governments of the two countries in the development of logistics corridors ‘Russia – Uzbekistan’;

- Agreement on cooperation between the Federal Service for State Registration, Cadastre and Cartography (Russia) and the Agency for Cadastre under the State Tax Committee of Uzbekistan;

- Agreement on information cooperation in the field of combating the legalization (laundering) of proceeds from crime and the financing of terrorism in the cross-border movement of cash and (or) monetary instruments by individuals.

- Protocol on amendments to the Agreement on the organization of a simplified procedure for carrying out customs operations when moving goods and vehicles between Uzbekistan and Russia, dated December 30, 2016;

- Protocol on amendments to the Protocol on the exchange of data characterizing the customs value of goods originating from Uzbekistan and imported into Russia, dated April 7, 2017.

- Memorandum of Understanding in the field of prevention, detection and suppression of dubious financial transactions by participants in foreign economic activity.

- Memorandum on cooperation in the field of communications and information technology;

- Memorandum of cooperation in the field of education;

- Protocol on Cooperation in Labor Inspection, Protection of Labor Rights and Promotion of Employment;

- Memorandum of Understanding between the Russian Export Center Joint Stock Company, the Russian Railways Logistics Joint Stock Company and the UzAgroLogistics Centers Limited Liability Company.
