The total assets of banks in Uzbekistan amounted to 444.9 trillion soums ($41.1 billion) in 2021, which is an increase of 21.5 percent compared to 2020 (366.1 trillion soums or $33.8 billion), Trend reports via the Uzbek Central Bank.
In 2021, state-owned banks’ assets accounted for 362.4 trillion soums ($33.5 billion), while private banks’ assets accounted for 82.5 trillion soums ($7.6 billion).
The total liabilities of banks in Uzbekistan in 2021 increased by 25.1 percent, in comparison with 2020 (307.7 trillion soums, or $28.4 billion), reaching 374 trillion soums ($34.5 billion).
During this period, the liabilities of state banks amounted to 304.7 trillion soums ($28.1 billion).
At the same time, the liabilities of private banks reached 69.2 trillion soums ($6.4 billion).
