Russia has imported 20,305 tons of tomatoes from Azerbaijan from January through February, 2022, the press service of the Russian Rosselkhoznadzor Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance told Trend.
“During the corresponding period, Uzbek enterprises exported 3,826 tons of tomatoes to Russia”, the press service reported.
Recently, it was reported that Rosselkhoznadzor lifted previously imposed restrictions on the import of vegetables into Russia from a number of countries. In particular, the organization has allowed the import of tomatoes from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.
Rosselkhoznadzor is a federal executive body carrying out functions on control and supervision in the veterinary field: establishment and lifting of phytosanitary quarantine zones, control of pesticide and agrochemical application, maintenance of soil fertility, cultivation achievements, protection, reproduction and use of animal objects and aquatic biological resources, and protection of humans from animal infectious diseases.
