BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 6. Uzbekistan and Türkiye increased the bilateral trade turnover by 6.2 percent from January through March 2023, compared to the same period of 2022, from $773.4 million up to $821.4 million, Trend reports via the Uzbek State Statistics Committee.
During the first quarter of 2023, the exports from Uzbekistan to Türkiye amounted to $361.8 million, which is 5 percent less than during the first three months of 2022 ($381 million).
At the same time, Uzbekistan imported from Türkiye goods and services worth $459.6 million, increasing by 17.1 percent, over $392.4 million from January through March last year.
During the reporting period, Türkiye imported from Uzbekistan some 2,900 tons of fruit and vegetables worth $3.7 million, textile products worth $129 million, etc.
In 2022, Türkiye's trade turnover with Uzbekistan reached $3.2 billion, which is a decrease of 5.4 percent, compared to the figure for 2021 ($3.4 billion).
Meanwhile, during the first quarter of 2023, Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover amounted to $14.7 billion, increasing by 11.9 percent, compared to the same period last year ($13.2 billion).
