TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, July 28. Uzbekistan and Japan discussed prospects for expanding bilateral trade, economic, investment, financial and technical cooperation, Trend reports.
The issues were discussed between the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan in Tashkent Takashi Hatori.
During the meeting, the parties highly appreciated the dynamics of the growth of the number of joint ventures with the participation of Japanese capital in Uzbekistan implementing projects in priority sectors.
They discussed current mechanisms and joint actions to attract advanced technologies, management experience and expertise of leading Japanese companies to Uzbekistan in order to implement new joint investment projects in various sectors, including pharmaceuticals, textiles, education, mechanical engineering and other areas.
As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to hold regular monthly round tables, at which representatives of the Japanese business community will take part to discuss further cooperation and ways to develop joint projects.
Takashi Hatori expressed readiness of Japan to continue active cooperation, both within the framework of ongoing projects and with the aim of jointly developing new initiatives.
The parties once again confirmed their mutual commitment to further enhance successful cooperation and worked out a format of joint actions for the practical implementation of existing agreements.
