TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, September 3. Prices for car fuel increased in Uzbekistan in August 2023, Trend reports.

According to data from the Uzbekistan Statistics Agency, the consumer price index (CPI) for fuel per month on average amounted to 104.2 percent. Fluctuations in the CPI for gasoline in Uzbekistan’s regions range from 103.1 to 106.6 percent.

Consolidated CPI amounted to 100.5 percent as for August 2023. Average monthly increase in CPI from January to August of 2023 reached 0.5 percent. CPI, being the main indicator of inflationary processes in the consumer sector, is one of the key indicators for assessment of socio-economic state of the country.

Earlier this year, Uzbekistan has lifted all restrictions on imports of petroleum products such as gasoline and diesel fuel. There has been a growing demand for the use of petroleum products in Uzbekistan over the past few years, therefore the country's authorities are aiming at increasing the volume of imports of both gasoline and diesel fuel.
