"Iran has launched producing new thermal missiles "air-to-air". The Defense Ministry manages this large-scale production," Commander of the Iranian Army Air Force General Hassan Shah Safi was quoted as saying by the Irna news agency.
The ministry completed testing new thermal rockets and has launched a large-scale production of these weapons. "The Iranian Air Forces has developed these air-to-air missiles," he added.
The flight range of the thermal rocket is 100 miles. "During the tests, the missile flew a distance of 40 kilometers, but it is possible to increase this distance," Safi said.
The Iranian Air Forces have completed the design of antiradar aircrafts and began manufacturing the first samples of these planes in small quantities, Safi said. "Large-scale production of the antiradar aircrafts will begin after the test. I hope all the research and testing of the aircraft will be completed by late 2009."
