The dispatch of 14 Iranian fleets to international waters during the past two years indicated the great strength of the Islamic Republic's naval forces, Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said Tuesday, IRNA reported.
The Rear Admiral made the remark while talking to IRNA in an exclusive interview about the capabablities and performance of the Iranian Navy Forces in the past couple of years.
"That we are capable of having strong presence in the Indian Ocean, Mediterranean Sea, Red Sea and Gulf of Aden to defend the Islamic Republic's interest is an indication of the country's power," the commander stressed.
Sayyari said Iran has provided security for 1,000 domestic and foreign ships in the international waters during past two years.
