According to the report, Jalili will meet with Syrian officials. The goal of the visit is has not made public officially, but Iranian media outlets linked the visit with Israeli airplanes' strike on a Syrian "military research center".

Syria Army released statement on Jan.30 saying that Israel airplanes bombed a military research center in northern region, but according to reports, Syrian rebels and Western diplomats say the strike carried out over an arms convoy that was carrying weapons from Syria to its ally Hezbollah in Lebanon.
