The majority of conservative politicians in Iran have organized a coalition, prior to the upcoming presidential elections in the country, Asriran reported.

The coalition consists of two members of the Combatant Clergy Association party, and three members of "The Followers of the Imam and Leader of Islamic Revolution" front, which includes 15 political parties.

Former Vice speaker Mohammad-Hassan Aboutorabi-Fard, Head of Iran's Trade Commerce Yahya Ali Ishaq, Deputy Speaker of Iranian Parliament Mohammad Reza Bahonar, former prosecutor Mostafa Pourmohammadi, former Foreign Minister of Ahmadinejad's government, Manouchehr Mottaki are the members of the coalition.

Later the coalition elected a secretary - former deputy interior minister and former governor of Iran's Qom province, Mohammad Hossein Musapour.

It was agreed at the coalition meeting that in mid-May, the announcement on who will be representing the coalition at the presidential elections, will be made.

Next presidential elections in Iran are slated to be held on June 14, 2013.

The voters will select the successor of current president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who is not able to participate in the elections for the third straight time due to country's constitutional laws.
