Iranian president Hassan Rouhani has started his conference as Iran's president in the presence of media outlets, Press TV reported live.
This is the first official press conference of Hassan Rouhani, since he was elected and inaugurated as the new president of Iran.
Rouhani thanked all domestic and foreign journalists, "who within couple of months tried their best to reflect the news regarding the June 14 elections in Iran, people's victory and the joy of Iranian nation".
"June 14 election this year, was indicative of stabilized process of democracy. There was a clear message to the world - showing determination of Iranian nation," Rouhani noted.
"During my presidential campaing, i had promised the people, that the future government will be an accountable government, and it will be acting and taking action transparently," he said.
"Based on my promise, this will be done, but it will be done on continuously basis. I will be informing people on successes, progress, performances, as well as falls, and shortcomings," he noted.
Speaking of the presidential elections, Rouhani said that on June 14 there was hope for peace and stability in the region.
"On June 14 there was hope for peace and stability in the region and Iran as well. It just started to be, on that day. It demonstrates the status of the Iranian nation, and Iran's status in the region and around the globe," he underscored.
"Our emphasis on the new government would be moral values and law - these are the main pillars on the path of moderation," he said.
On 14 June 2013, Hassan Rouhani won the presidential elections in Iran, gathering over 50 percent of total votes.
On August 3, Rouhani met with the Leader of Iran's Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, who officially endorsed Hassan Rohani as the country's new president for a four-year term.
The next day, Rouhani underwent an inauguration ceremony, during which he was sworn-in, as the next president of Iran.
Rouhani previously said that he will work towards the removal of western sanctions, adding that his government will adopt moderate policies and actions.
