Baku, Azerbaijan, Apr.13
By Fatih Karimov - Trend:
Syria has overcome security crisis, the Iranian deputy foreign minister said.
Hossein Amir-Abollahian added that the support of some countries to terrorism and sending weapons to Syria will intensify the situation, Iran's Mehr news agency reported on April 13.
Amir-Abollahian made the remarks in a meeting with German Social Democrat parliamentarian Rolf Mützenich in Tehran.
The German official said his country will benefit from Iran's influence to resolve regional crises, especially the Syrian crisis.
Iran's contribution to efforts aimed at settling the issue can be more effective than certain international conferences, he added
Amir-Abdollahian, for his part, stressed the need to facilitate a political solution for the Syria crisis and improve the humanitarian condition in the country as crucial measures at the present juncture, warning that the continuation of militaristic approaches and foreign support for terrorism in Syria will merely complicate the situation.
In mid-March, Tehran presented the outline of a four-point plan for resolving the crisis in Syria through a democratic process to visiting UN-Arab League Special Representative for Syria Lakhdar Brahimi, Press TV reported.
