A small two-megawatt thermal power plant has been commissioned in Mayan Industrial Park of Tabriz in Iran's East Azerbaijan Province, Managing Director of Tabriz Electric Power Distribution Company Adil Kazimi said, Trend reports via IRNA.
He noted that the power plant started operation with 43.7 percent of production capacity and soon the production capacity will increase to 55.6 percent.
The power plant was built in a plot of 1,500 square meters with private sector investments of 700,000 euros and 15 billion rials (about $357,000).
A license has been issued for the power plant to bring the capacity to five megawatts in the future.
