(IRNA) - Indonesian Foreign Minister Hassan Wirajuda Monday in Jakarta called for further expansion of wide-ranging ties with Iran.

During a meeting with a visiting Iranian parliamentary delegation, he voiced his satisfaction with Tehran-Jakarta cooperation in various international organizations including the D8, Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and United Nations.

Referring to the growing trend in Iran-Indonesia economic relations, he said both countries had a great potential for expansion of bilateral ties, reports Trend.

Lauding Iran's key role in the resolution of regional crises, Wirajuda expressed hope Iran's efforts to restore peace and tranquility to Iraq and Afghanistan would bear fruit.

Referring to the Zionist regime's latest brutalities in occupied Palestine, he voiced his country's continued support for the Palestinina resistance movement.

During the meeting, Anoushiravan Mohseni, an MP from Nowshahr in Mazandaran province and head of the Iran-Indonesia Parliamentary Friendship Group, said the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Majlis) is seriously determined to boost ties with all Muslim states, including Indonesia.

Referring to Iran's standoff with the West on its nuclear activities, he said the Iranian government and nation were determined to push on with their peaceful nuclear program.

Referring to the US' double standards with respect to the right of states to access nuclear technology, the Iranian MP called for implementation of all international agreements, including the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), without discrimination.

Members of Iran's Parliamentary Friendship Group arrived in the Indonesian capital, Jakarta, late Thursday for a seven-day visit.
