In the first half of this year (a year starts on March 21 in Iran), exports of the cooperatives of Iran's Gilan Province amounted to $27 million, IRNA reported citing Director General of the Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare Office of Gilan Abbas Alizadeh.
Alizadeh noted that, 13 cooperative companies exported products to Iraq, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Russia, Afghanistan, Turkey, the UAE, Pakistan, Canada, Sweden, Germany, India, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Hong Kong, Georgia and Ukraine.
The exported products were mostly food, metal, detergents, cloth, carpets, and stones, Alizadeh said.
The total value of the exports were forecasted to be around $31 million and in just sixt months 87 percent of this amount has been reached, he added.
