Solar panels worth six billion rials (about $142,000) have been installed for nomads in Iran’s Bahmaei district of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province, said Mohammad Akbarian, director of the Nomads Affairs Organization in Bahmaei district of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province, Trend reports via IRNA.
He said that this amount was invested to install 17 solar panels.
Akbarian added that the panels were installed in the Chehchel and Chahtun villages, where it is impossible to connect them to the electricity grid.
Some 1,150 nomad families live in Bahmaei district, which has more than 6,000 inhabitants.
