Iran notes growth in exports

Iran's exports increased by 47 percent in value and 15 percent in volume during the first 7 months of the current Iranian year (March 21 - October 22, 2021), compared to the same period of last Iranian year, Director General of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Mehdi Mirashrafi said in a statement, Trend reports.

According to Mirashrafi, during this period, Iran exported 75.2 million tons of products worth $27.1 billion.

“The products exported from Iran over the mentioned period were mainly liquefied gas, methanol, polyethylene, incomplete iron materials, liquid propane, iron ingots, iron shafts, carbamide, cathode, copper and bitumen,” Mirashrafi added.

“The customs official said that Iran exported 16.9 million tons of goods worth $7.7 billion to China, 19.7 million tons worth $5.5 billion to Iraq and 11 million tons worth $3.4 billion to Turkey. It exported 2.2 million tons of products worth $2.6 billion to the UAE and 2.8 million tons worth $1.1 billion to Afghanistan,” he noted.

According to him, in the specified period, Iran's trade turnover in terms of volume amounted to 98 million tons, and in monetary terms - $54.8 billion.

The trade turnover increased by 43 percent in value and 16.5 percent in volume on annual basis.
