Traditional Christmas market will open in Strasbourg on Nov.24.
The ceremony will be attended by Georgian Culture Minister Guram Odisharia, First Deputy Minister Alexander Margishvili and other officials.
Georgia, as a guest of honor of the market, organizes "Georgian village" and will hold a series of cultural events. National Ballet "Sukhishvilebi", ensembles "Rustavi", "Lashari", pianist Khatia Buniatishvili, jazzman Beka Gochiashvili together American musicians, singer Tamta Tskvitava will perform for guests of Strasbourg. Pantomime theater will be shown, a photo exhibition will be organized, and Georgian films will be demonstrated.
"Georgian village" on the Gutenberg Square will present Georgian cuisine, national products, national clothing, jewelry, Georgian wine, gifts, dolls, as well as Georgian New Year symbols.
The organizer of the "Georgian village" is Ltd Georgian Product.
Mayor's Office of Strasbourg made the decision that the guest of honor of the current Christmas Market will be Georgia. It made a choice between Georgia and Japan. The primary criterion was the level of democracy in the country and observing human rights, and respect for all-European values.
Christmas Market in Strasbourg is visited by four million tourists from all over the world every year, and for the first time Georgia has a chance to present its original culture in the market.
