Georgia’s revenues from visitors from Azerbaijan from January through December 2021 amounted to $43.4 million, which is a decrease of 12.3 percent, compared to $49.5 million over 2020, Trend reports via the national bank of Georgia (NBG).

However, the revenues from Azerbaijani visitors to Georgia in December 2021 alone totaled $5.4 million – an increase of 500 percent, compared to $900,000 over the same month of 2020, and 20 percent, compared to $4.5 million in November 2021.

Thus, Azerbaijan ranks 7 among the main countries of origin for money spending in Georgia in 2021, the report said.

Georgia’s total income from foreign visitors from January through December 2021 amounted to more than $1.2 billion, which is an increase of 129.8 percent, compared to $541.7 million over the same period of 2020.
