Syrian government forces Wednesday launched a mass arrest campaign in the northern province of Idlib after seizing control of it, opposition activists said dpa reported
"Members of the (rebel) Syrian Free Army withdrew from Idlib after having run out of ammunition. The regime forces are now carrying out house-to-house searches to hunt for the opposition," Rami Idlibi, an activist in the area, told dpa by satellite phone.
"The regime troops have rounded up around 100 men and women so far," Idlibi said.
