Israel's "Sun D'or Airlines" would start flights between the Israeli capital of Tel Aviv to the Turkish city of Istanbul on June 23, the press office of the Sabiha Gokcen Airport on the Anatolian side of Istanbul said.

Executives of the Sun D'or Airlines and Istanbul's Sabiha Gokcen International Airport signed an agreement in Israel to launch Tel Aviv-Istanbul flights, reported World bulletin.

"The number of airline companies using the Sabiha Gokcen Airport is increasing gradually," Server Aydin, the deputy director general of the airport, said.

Aydin also said that the management was planning to add ten new destinations to Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport's network in 2009.

The Sun D'or Airlines was established in 1977 as a subsidiary company of El Al Israel Airlines, specializing in operating charter flights.

Named after the first woman war pilot in the world and the first Turkish woman pilot, Sabiha Gokcen Airport was opened in 2001.
