Jason Kapono of the Toronto Raptors is aiming to shoot his way into the record books as only the third player to win the Three-Point Shootout Competition three consecutive times, dpa reported.

Kapono faces All-Star reserves Danny Granger (Indiana Pacers), Rashard Lewis (Orlando Magic), along with Mike Bibby (Atlanta Hawks), Roger Mason (San Antonio Spurs) and Daequan Cook (Miami Heat) in the competition on February 14 as part of NBA All-Star Weekend in Phoenix, Arizona.

The players will compete in a two-round competition, in which each will have one minute to make as many shots at each of five different designated stations around the free throw.

The top three finishers from the first round advance to the finals.

Should Kapono win, he will join long-distance champions Craig Hodges (1990-92) and Hall of Famer Larry Bird (1986-88) as the only players to lift the trophy three times.
