Pakistani security forces kill another 10 militants as operation progresses
Security forces killed another 10 militants and apprehended six others in an operation in northwestern Pakistan during last 24 hours, the army said in a statement on Thursday.
Six hideouts were destroyed in various areas of Swat and Buner districts of North West Frontier Province and one soldier was killed and two others injured, said the statement, Xinhua reported.
While security forces are continuing their operation against militants, they are also engaged in relief work for the internally displaced persons in the northwest.
The security forces initiated the offensive against militants in some parts of North West Frontier Province in late April after Taliban militants refused to vacate Buner district as promised and challenged the writ of the government.
