An oil tank blasted in a chemical plant in Urumqi, capital of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Sunday morning, firefighters said, Xinhua reported.
The explosion occurred around 10 a.m. in a refinery of the Urumqi company of the China National Petroleum Corporation, in the Midong district in northern Urumqi, the city's firefighters said.
The fire triggered by the blast was put out near midday.
No casualties were reported. The cause is being investigated.
